Forums

Date of release:
Expected March, 2010 (Anymeta 4.13). Since february 2010 the new comment screens are already live (see image below).
Motivation:
Until recent the forum features of Anymeta were slightly limitary. Developing a better and more user friendly forum allows the user to share information and knowledge more effectively.
Current state:
We're currently working on the new forum functionalities in Anymeta. The designs are already finished. Now we are wrapping up the technical part.

Wizards

Date of release:

Expected March 2010 (Anymeta 4.13)
Motivation:
Wizards provide additional information about the functionalities of our websites. In co-oporation with our partner RVU we're developing the so called registration wizard and the login wizard. The wizard pops up as a screen when you click on certain buttons (such as login). For example the screen provides information to guide a user through the registration. RVU will be the first party to use this feature. In time wizards will be included in all Anymeta websites.
Current state:

Wizards aren't in use yet. What we show in the image below is a preview. We also demonstrated the wizard during the client meeting March 2nd. The visual designs are approved, and we are now working on the technical part. Not all of the wizards will be a common part of Anymeta websites. Some of them are exclusively designed for the RVU website.

Linking Anymeta with Hyves

Date of release:
Available since September 2009 (Anymeta 4.9)

Motivation:

Mediamatic wants allow people to declare relationships and create content across different social media services. Such services work together as partners in a federation based on open protocols and formats. As from september 2009 it's possible to send information from your Anymeta/Open-CI account to Hyves.
Current state:

Users are able to send profile status updates from an Anymeta/Open-CI account to the WieWatWaar on Hyves. You can easily activate this feature via the preferences of your profile.

Link met Hyves

Linking Anymeta with Twitter

Date of release:

Expected in the course of 2010
Motivation:
Besides linking Anymeta with Hyves, Mediamatic looks for other social media to connect with.
Current state:

In time users will be able to link an Anymeta/Open-CI account to their Twitter account. Status updates will be send as a Tweet.

Linking Anymeta with LinkedIn

Date of release:
Expected in the course of 2010
Motivation:

We are working on establishing a connection between Anymeta and LinkedIn. We're investigating if it's possible to integrate a users personal businesscard in their Anymeta account.
Stand van zaken:

Research is in progress. We strive for a connection comparable to the ones we presented with Hyves and Twitter.

Introduction personal bar

Date of release:

Available since February 20th, 2010 (Anymeta 4.12)
Motivation:

This feature is also known as MyMenu. Previously the login bar at the top of the website was invisible when a user was not logged in. We restyled the menubar, so it got a fresh new look. The bar is now visible at all times (with links to your profiel, contributions and preferences). Users that are not registered or not logged in, can see that there are more features on the website.
Current state:
The Login / Registration button is always visible in upper right corner.
The edit bar appears when a user logs in. When logged in three bars can be recognized by the icons on the left: A person for your personal bar; A pencil for the edit bar; A house for navigation.

Integration Youtube and Vimeo; movie clips as a thing

Date of release:

Available since March 2010 (Anymeta 4.12)
Motivation:
The possibility to embed a movie clip from Youtube or Vimeo into an article already exsisted for a while. With Anymeta 4.12 you can now add a clip as an attachment. By doing that a movie clip will be a thing in Anymeta, just like an image. This way your movie clip will be better findable. It's possible to add a title, tags and keywords. The movie clip can also be connected to other things on the website, like articles, blogs etc.
Current state:
You can add a clip when editing a page. Click on the camera icon and go to "more options". Simply copy paste the url of the clip in the corresponding textfield and click "ok". Now your movie clip is a findable thing. This feature was originally designed for RVU, but is now a common part of Anymeta 4.12.

Integration Google Maps

Date of release:
Available since September 2009
Motivation:
The integration of Google Maps in Anymeta exists for quite a while. There were some things however that required some improvement. The time that Anymeta needed to load this feature was too long; there wasn't any advanced search function; markers were placed randomly on the map when geographical information (geo-data) wasn't correct.
Current state:
We've managed to decrease the loading time of the Google Maps screen. The pop-up screen with the map is programmed in a way that users can adjust the size of the map. If geo-data isn't correct, no markers will be placed. Futhermore you can add custom markers, and we've created an advanced search function.

Re: Anymeta Roadmap

Ik ben groot voorstander van transparantie. Fijn dat we hier laten zien waar we aan werken.
Beloofd aan Gianfranco van PICNIC: "we will be translating this Roadmap in English, so you and other English speaking partners can follow developments and add stuff to the wish list".

Tips / help optie?

De functionaliteit van Any-Meta blijft zich uitbreiden. Geweldig!
